Warren Delphi workers set to vote on new contract

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Workers at the Delphi plant in Warren will be voting on a tentative contract agreement with Delphi Automotive starting this weekend.

A leader of International Union of Electrical Workers-Communications Workers of America Local 717 told the Tribune Chronicle that this contract could help fix concerns over wages.

Members had threatened to strike if a deal was not reached by midnight Wednesday.

There will be two informational meetings at the guild hall for employees that want to know more.

On Oct. 16, the parties reached a tentative agreement, but union leaders voted the agreement down. On Oct. 25, two-thirds of the local union members at the Warren and Vienna Delphi plants voted no to another contract offer from Delphi Automotive.
