Canfield Schools receive donation for girls’ softball scoreboard

Canfield Schools receive $20,000 donation from Refresh Dental for girls' softball scoreboard

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Canfield Local School District is getting some financial help for one of its athletic teams, thanks to a local business.

On Friday morning, Canfield Schools Superintendent Alex Geordan and Ken Cooper, of Refresh Dental, signed an agreement in which the company will donate at least $20,000 to pay for a new scoreboard for the girls’ softball field.

Cooper said the donation is part of the company’s move toward investing back into the local community.

“You’ll still see us on TV and doing advertising, but we’ve started to allocate more money toward the school districts, more money to local communities, because that’s really where our business base comes from,” he said.

School administrators said the donation will also help maintain the softball fields.

Earlier this year, the company helped underwrite the new football stadium project for Boardman Local Schools.
