YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man driving around a water main break Friday afternoon on Youngstown’s north side found himself stuck in the sinkhole that created the mess.

A man got stuck in a sinkhole on Belmont Avenue Friday afternoon. On Belmont Avenue’s five-way intersection near Schiavone Funeral Home, Morris Clark’s car sat right over the break. For awhile, the car was in the hole.

Clark said he saw the water on the road. Everyone else was going to the right, but Morris went to the left.

“There was no hole there. I didn’t think there was a hole there. But when I got on that side and was going up, the car just fell right in,” he said.

A tow truck driver was able to maneuver Clark out of the hole, but the right front side of his car was damaged.
