Sharpsville & Peavy impressive in playoff opener

Sharpsville beats Maplewood in D10 (A) Quarterfinal

HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – The Blue Devils appear to be a state contender once again after their 49-14 victory tonight over Maplewood. Tyrin Peavy scored 4 touchdowns in the first half including a 26-yard fumble return.

Sharpsville opened the first half with seven touchdowns (49-0). Peavy had his 4 while Marquis Altman, Maison Millero and Cameron Prebble had the other three six-point runs.

The Tigers added points of their own in the third quarter with a Kyle Nuhfer 10-yard run. Number 22, who has run for over 1000 yards this year, has scored 12 rushing scores to his season.

Maplewood finished their season with a 5-6 record. Sharpsville (11-0) will face West Middlesex next week in the District 10 Class A Semifinal (site, TBA).
