Mercer Co. man assaults 2 at treatment facility, is charged

PINE TWP, Pa. (WKBN) – One man is in jail after assaulting two staff members at his treatment facility in Mercer County.

Theodore Walton, 18, was charged with felony aggravated assault, assault by prisoner and aggravated harrassment by prisoner after an altercation on Wednesday evening at George Junior Republic in Pine Township, Mercer County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Walton assaulted one staff member by repeatedly punching him in the face and head.

Walton was then restrained to prevent the staff member from being assaulted further when he spat in another staff member’s face three times.

Walton was placed in the Mercer County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
