Christmas surprise: Warren teacher remodels home for student

A Warren teacher is remodeling a house for one of his students for Christmas.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren city school teacher is trying to give back to one of his students this Christmas.

William Sanders teaches at Jefferson Elementary. When he heard of a young Warren woman’s passing, he knew something had to be done for the student related to her.

Sanders reached out to the Trumbull County Neighborhood Partners and Warren Family Mission.

“We teamed up together to get this house so we can help a family feel a little bit like a family for the holiday,” he said.

Sanders and his wife, Kiisha, spend their free time fixing up the house for the family. They plan to have it remodeled and furnished to surprise them this Christmas.

If you would like to help, Sanders needs donations of several items, including:

-Hot water tank
-Christmas tree and decorations

They are also accepting cash donations and any volunteers who are at least 18 to help clean and fix-up the home.

For more information, you can email Sanders at or visit the Team Sanders website.
