Salem PD: Impaired woman takes officers on 22-mile chase

Tammy Shuman is jailed without bond for impaired driving and taking officers on a 22-mile chase.

SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – A 39-year-old Salem woman is jailed without bond after taking police on a quite a trip Saturday night. There was also a child in her vehicle during the lengthy pursuit.

The Morning Journal says Tammy Shuman faces failure to comply, endangering children, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and other charges after eventually being apprehended by Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputies near Minerva. Police say she even drove over stop sticks, blew several tires and continued driving.

Shuman was initially pulled over on West Pershing in Salem where the officer determined she was impaired. She failed to follow police orders and drove off.
