$30K reward offered after dad gunned down in front of kids

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – An Ohio nonprofit group that helps fight against crime is tripling its reward offering for information leading to the arrest of a man who shot a father as he was leaving a Columbus restaurant with his wife and their six children.

Police Sgt. Christ Holzhauser previously said 40-year-old Shueyb Abukar and his family were leaving a Golden Corral restaurant on Oct. 23 when a gunman shot him twice in front of his kids in an apparent robbery attempt.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers offered a $10,000 reward last week for information. The group is now offering $30,000 for information on the shooting that leads to an arrest.

The amount now ranks in the top five highest amounts since the organization began 40 years ago.
