Truck crashes, drops coils in Shenango

SHENANGO, Pa. (WKBN) – A tractor-trailer crashed in Shenango Township while carrying two aluminum coils that weighed around 24,000 pounds apiece Tuesday afternoon.

The truck was getting off the ramp from Interstate 376/80 to Route 18 northbound. A police officer at the scene of the accident said the trucker may have taken the bend too fast and flipped. The truck was on its way to Greenville.

The Shenango Township Police Department is handling the case.

The northbound lane of Route 18 was temporarily blocked Tuesday afternoon.
