Howland trio signs National Letters of Intent

Tommy Carnifax, Hannah Kowach, and Craig Lewis all made their college choices official on Wednesday.

HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – A trio of standout athletes at Howland High School officially signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday morning.

The following Tigers who made their college choices official include:

Tommy Carnifax who will continue his football career in the Big Ten at Northwestern.  In six games with the Tigers this season, Carnifax racked up 45 solo tackles with 14 TFL’s and six sacks.  He also caught six passes for 98 yards this Fall.

Hannah Kowach signed to continue her softball career at the University of Charleston.  While donning the Howland Tiger orange and black, Kowach has achieved multiple accolades on the softball diamond. As a sophomore, Hannah played in all 23 varsity games, hitting .293, with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. On the mound , her 1.57 ERA was tops on the team. Following a strong sophomore performance, Hannah displayed her true potential during her junior season, improving her batting average to .526, breaking the RBI and Most Hits in a a single season records with 37 and 50 respectively. She gained AAC All-Conference honors last season.

And last but not least, Craig Lewis signed to play college baseball at Seton Hill University.  Lewis was offensive player of the year for the Tigers this past season leading the team in almost all offensive categories.
