2 injured in Portage County crash on Route 5

PARIS TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – A Newton Township woman and Paris Township man were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Route 5, just west of Newton Falls in Portage County.

Troopers say Kyle Patton, 32, of Paris Township went left of center and struck a car head-on driven by Denise Raddatz, 56, of Newton Falls.

Patton’s 2000 Pontiac Sunfire went off the road and overturned.

Patton and Raddatz were taken to a Ravenna hospital with critical injures.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
