Transformer move stalls traffic on Route 551

First Energy is moving a transformer through Lawrence and Mercer counties.

PULASKI TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) – Drivers are urged to avoid areas of Route 551 Friday as First Energy transports a transformer through Lawrence and Mercer counties.

The transformer is heading to the Shenango substation in West Middlesex.

First Energy is moving a transformer through Lawrence and Mercer counties. The over-sized load will be traveling at about 5 miles per hour along Route 551, and some traffic will be slowed or stopped for the move.

An exact time has not been set for the transformer to arrive at its destination, but state police plan to have the roads monitored until about 6 p.m. Friday.
