Man charged with trying to run over co-worker in Niles parking lot

Edgar Camacho was charged with felonious involving and incident at a restaurant in Niles. Ohio.


NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Police say a suspect attempted to run over a co-worker at the El Jalapeno Restaurant in Niles.

According to a police report, officers were called about 2:15 a.m. Sunday to the restaurant on Youngstown Road after an employee there said he had gotten into an argument with Edgar Juan Camacho, 24, of Mexico, and Camacho attempted to run him over with his SUV. Camacho then took off.

Police spotted a vehicle fitting the description of the SUV  pulling out of the Plaza Azteca, also on Youngstown Road, and tried to stop the vehicle, but Camacho continued driving.

Niles turned the pursuit over to Howland where officers stopped the SUV on North Road.

Camacho was arrested and charged with felonious assault. He is being held in the Trumbull County Jail.
