YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Ballet Western Reserve is putting on its own version of a Christmas classic – “A Youngstown Nutcracker.”
Spectators will see traditional parts of the show, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, but they will also see more of Youngstown on the stage.
The show is open to the public for two performances scheduled for Dec. 5. At 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $19 and $28.
“It is definitely still the traditional Nutcracker, but has the elements of Youngstown. It has historical characters from the Civil War era, as well as other elements such as the Idora Park carousel, Warner Brothers and that kind of thing,” said Emily Pasquale, rehearsal director with Ballet Western Reserve.
Tickets are still available through the Powers Auditorium box office.
