One person killed after Hubbard car crash

One person was killed following a crash at the intersection of Seifert-Lewis and Mt. Everett roads in Hubbard.

HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – One person was killed in a single car crash in Hubbard Township this evening.

It happened at the corner of Seifert-Lewis and Mount Everett roads. Witnesses said a minivan drove down a gravel road used for an oil well and crashed in a field.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating. It says that a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling north on Seifert-Lewis when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Mt. Everett Road, driving off the north side of the roadway. The minivan struck a rock pile and a couple of tires before overturning on its side.

The driver was identified as 61-year-old Rex Martin, of Hubbard Township. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. State Highway Patrol did not identify the passenger.
