STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – Students at Struthers Middle School got a special treat this morning before their Thanksgiving break.

Players, coaches and front office staff with the Youngstown Phantoms paid a visit to the school to deliver brand new hockey equipment. The gift is part of the Phantoms Hockey for Health initiative.
The players and coaches covered hockey basics with the kids and went over some drills.

“What it does, it introduces the great game of hockey to a bunch of kids who might not be familiar with our sport, and with that, we tie in educational items,” Phantoms Head Coach John Wroblewski said.

This the Phantoms second Power Play assembly this year. They visited Austintown Intermediate School last month.
