2015-16 Meadville Bulldogs’ Boys’ Basketball Preview

Season in Review
Meadville rolled through the regular season by winning 15 of their 16 games in Region 5 enroute to a District 10 Class AAA third place finish following a 3-point loss to Strong Vincent in the Semifinal round and a 4-point overtime win over Girard (PA) in the consolation contest. The Bulldogs’ were eliminated by Beaver Falls in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs (76-50).

Jason Clune and Armoni Foster both averaged over 16 points per game during the season while Shequon Lindsey finished his career with 237 blocked shots. The team saw their win total increase from 8 the year prior to 22 last winter.

Key Returnees
“We have a strong returning group that has worked very hard in the off-season to develop team chemistry and balance,” says coach Mark McElhinny. “We have a very athletic team that will look to run the floor and hopes to be in contention for another region title.”

Senior Jason Clune (1009 career points) returns after averaging 16.3 points and 8 rebounds per game as a junior. Armoni Foster posted a team-high 16.6 points scored per outing as just a sophomore. Foster also registered 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.
