Checkpoint set for Friday night in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A checkpoint is set for Friday night in Youngstown.

According to the OVI Task Force, the checkpoint will take place on the south side of the city, at the corner of South Avenue and Indianola Avenue. The checkpoint is set to last from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Officers will be looking for alcohol and drug impairment during the checkpoints.

Police are required by federal law to announce the location of a checkpoint in order to comply with the 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures of property.
