Advent marks start of Christmas season for Catholics

A procession was held at Saint Columba Church in Youngstown to celebrate Advent.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Catholics in Youngstown have started their own celebrations for the Christmas season.

Sunday night, they had their annual Advent Procession at Saint Columba Cathedral.

Lessons and carols followed the procession through the church.

Catholic leaders say it is an important way to begin Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas.
