Auto Dealers Association closes after administrators retire

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – After more than 50 years in business, the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio is putting on the brakes.

The association provides education and training to local car dealerships and raises money for charities.

Just last June, the group donated $32,000 to the Rich Center for Autism.

The board of trustees voted to close after learning both the executive vice president and administrative assistant were retiring.

Trustees added that since 1950, the number of dealerships across the country has dropped from 50,000 to just 17,000.

Local dealerships can still receive aid from the national association when needed.
