Target web site goes down on Cyber Monday

Target's website was down Monday on the biggest online shopping day of the year.

(WISH) — It’s a retailer’s worst nightmare on one of the biggest online shopping days of the year.

Target’s website went down during Cyber Monday shopping Monday morning. The retail giant attributed it to high traffic.

“So sorry, but high traffic’s causing delays,” said a message, in part, when shoppers tried reaching Target.com.

The site remained down as of 10:40 a.m. By 10:52 a.m., it appeared to be back up and running.

The National Retail federation expects 121 million people to shop online Monday, and that’s down just a bit from last year.
