LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) – High school students with special needs got the chance to let loose Wednesday night.

The 15th annual Winterfest Dance took place at the Mahoning Country Club. It gives students with orthopedic or developmental disabilities the chance to interact with students from other schools without their parents around.

“What makes it fun is that they get to interact with their peers from other communities. They get to meet other people, other students, so it’s a lot of fun,” said Youngstown East High School teacher Jeannie Constantino.

Santa Claus made an appearance at the dance. A Snow Prince and Princess were also crowned.
