Howland Schools enacts superintendent advisory panel

The Howland Schools advisory panel will help shape the district's future by giving the superintendent feedback.

HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – A new advisory group is taking shape in Howland, designed to increase community involvement in the Howland Local School district.

As part of the new initiative, a group of about 3 dozen people will give advice to Howland Superintendent Kevin Spicher as part of an overall strategic plan.

The district says that the panel will help shape the district’s future. The superintendent said it is his job to make the recommendations to the school board.

In addition to making recommendations to Spicher, the panel will act as a liaison between the community and the school district.

The advisory panel is already working in the community to help promote a permanent school improvement levy that will be on the March ballot.
