WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Holiday lights decked out the gazebo in Warren’s Courthouse Square.

The “Light up the Square” display is in memory of the late James Economos, who died in April. He was the owner of The Saratoga restaurant — a staple in downtown.

Lights on the gazebo, poles and 22 pear trees surrounding the perimeter of Courthouse Square were turned on for the holiday season Wednesday night.

Caroling of Christmas music by the First Presbyterian Church of Warren serenaded the visitors during the event.

Meanwhile, in Youngstown, the annual sing-along with coca and cookies got people in the holiday spirit at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The Carols and Cocoa event at the auditorium included a performance by Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music.

The event has been a holiday tradition for more than 30 years. It begins with the singing of Christmas carols and then breaks for some hot chocolate before a whole ensemble performance.
