BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Karen Taylor says the Salvation Army helped her in a time of need. Now, every Christmas season, she helps return the favor.
Taylor, a Campbell native, has been ringing a bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign every year since 2005. Thursday, she was outside of Giant Eagle supermarket in Boardman, at her familiar post.
Taylor said that before she started volunteering with the Salvation Army, they gave her food and other necessities when she was going through hard times financially, as well as giving her Christmas gifts for her five children.
Watch the above video for more of Taylor’s story and her perspective on why the Salvation Army matters.
