CLARION, Ohio (WKBN) – Farrell advanced to the Western Final following a 27-6 win over Kane in the PIAA Class A Quarterfinals at Clarion University Friday night.

The Steelers racked up 406 yards of total offense in the win.

Farrell got on the board in the first quarter, when Braxton Chapman plunged in for a 1-yard touchdown.  The 2-point conversion gave the Steelers an 8-0 lead.  Chapman finished with 106 rushing yards.

The Farrell offense stalled until Malachi Newell tacked on six more with a 38-yard touchdown run.  He finished with 136 rushing yards on seven carries.

Quarterback Alex Myers completed 7-11 passes for 61 yards, but tossed three interceptions.  Defensively, he notched a pair of interceptions.

Kane managed just 190 total yards on the night.

In a huge upset, Clairton was knocked off by Berlin Brothersvalley 35-22.  That means the Steelers advance to face the Mountaineers in the Class A State Semifinals next week.  The date and time of that matchup will be announced Sunday.
