SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) – Ten years ago, Pastor Sherry Swetz and her husband, John, developed a mission of feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and sharing the gospel.
It wasn’t until seven years ago that they were able to secure a building and Joshua’s Haven City Mission came to life.
Sunday marked a special occasion: the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mission’s new home on Stambaugh Avenue in Sharon.
“The ribbon cutting ceremony is to celebrate all the hard work and perseverance for a grand opening for the people of the community to see what we’ve done, what we’re about to do and to celebrate with us,” Sherry said.
The Warner Company from Greenville was in attendance and presented a $10,000 check to the Mission.
After a tour of the new facility, a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and Chinese auction followed.
