CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County OVI Task Force announced Monday that they will hold a sobriety checkpoint this coming weekend.
In a press release, the group stated that the checkpoint will be held somewhere in Mahoning County over the weekend of Friday, Dec. 11 to Sunday, Dec. 13.
The release did not announce the specific location of the checkpoint, in which officers will be looking for alcohol and drug impairment.
Police will hold saturation patrols throughout the week and into the weekend, according to the release. During saturation patrols, extra police officers are on the road looking for driving violations.
The Mahoning County OVI Task Force, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Department of Transportation and Mahoning County Emergency Management Agency are participating in the organization of the checkpoint.
