WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – In November, WKBN told you about a purple parking spot outside the Warren Municipal Court, designated for combat-wounded veterans.
Now the city is adding more purple spots, plus a few blue ones beside them, for all veterans.
Monday, city leaders and veterans gathered in the parking lot behind City Hall, unveiling two newly-painted parking spots.
Veterans say Warren is setting the bar high and encouraging other municipalities, not only in Ohio, but across the country to do the same.
“It’s an honor to be recognized, for all veterans in Trumbull County to have a place to come down and see parking only for us,” Trumbull County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 Treasurer Ken David said.
Warren plans to continue painting similar spots, and Mayor Doug Franklin says eventually every city building will have them.
