RAVENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – West Branch girls’ basketball team drops to 1-4 after their 49-41 loss tonight on the road at Ravenna. The Lady Warriors have been handed four straight setbacks by 8 points or less.
The Warriors went cold in the second half after leading by 9 at the half (24-15). Ravenna outscored the Warriors 34-17 in the final sixteen minutes.
Catie Hahn led West Branch with 10 points (6 rebounds). Kaylee Manning and Kayla Hovorka added 9 and 8 points respectively.
The Lady Ravens featured three scorers in double figures led by Alyssa Smetak who had 13. Lauren Calhoun (12) and Emily Holt (10) tallied 22 amongst themselves. Calhoun finished with 10 rebounds as well. Ravenna shot 29 free throws (16 makes).
West Branch shot for a better percentage from the floor (35.9% compared to 32.6%) but turned the ball over 29 times.
Next up for the Lady Warriors is a Saturday matchup at Carrollton. Ravenna (4-2) will seek their fourth win in a row when they welcome Coventry to town on Wednesday.
