Trumbull Co. Commissioners weigh budget requests

Trumbull County Commisioners heard requests for funding during a budget hearing on Wednesday.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Trumbull County Commissioners will have some difficult choices to make before the end of the year as they work to keep the budget balanced.

This was the first of two days of budget hearings with various departments that receive money from the county’s general fund.

Among those meeting with Commissioners were judges with the Trumbull County Family Court, who were asking for about $4.5 million for 2016 — the same amount that they received this year.

Commissioners hope to keep their spending around $45 million next year, but requests from department heads total about $51 million.
