Polar Express comes to Boardman Park

A Polar Express event was held at Boardman Park in Boardman, Ohio.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Park turned into the North Pole Friday for some lucky kids.

More than 75 families from across Mahoning County were invited to a free day of crafts, singing, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The event was dubbed the Polar Express Event and hosted by Making Kids Count, a local non-profit dedicated to making the lives of children and their families brighter.

Organizers of the event included the Mahoning County Educational Service Center’s Help Me Grow Program. The ESC provides two home visiting programs for pregnant women and their children until the age of five and provides parenting and child development education, as well as information and referral about community resources for children with a developmental delay, disability, or a medical condition that may result in a delay or disability.
