YMCA Breakfast with Santa puts smiles on kids’ faces

The YMCA in downtown Youngstown hosts Breakfast with Santa for kids in need.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Over 300 kids met at the downtown YMCA on Saturday for gifts and pictures with Santa.

This is the 23rd year for “Breakfast With Santa,” an event for kids and families in need.

Those who attended had a hot breakfast, while each child age 10 and under picked out a toy for Christmas and took a picture with Santa.

Coordinator Ashley Farinelli says giving back to the community really makes a difference.

“I’m just so overjoyed just to see the smiles on these kids’ faces who might not be able to have a joyful holiday or their family doesn’t have the means to have a joyful holiday.”

More than 500 gifts were donated from the community. Any leftover presents will go to families at Meridian Health Care, the organization that helped put on this event.
