YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Police received a call around 7:30 Saturday morning after a woman reported being held at knife and gunpoint against her will.
Investigators say the victim got away from the house on Shady Run Road when the suspect fell asleep. She ran down the road to a nearby business and called police.
“A female had called in and said she had been held against her will,” Officer Sharon Borton said. “She was able to get outside the house.”
Officers say the man barricaded himself inside the home when they arrived.
YPD called in the tactical team to negotiate with the man, which ended in a peaceful surrender.
The suspect remains in police custody, but officers have not released his name.
