Peace Light arrives at Boardman church

The Peace Light arrives at Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Peace Light, which is also being hosted by Boy Scouts in Warren, is now at Bethel Lutheran Church on Crestview Drive.

The light comes from the grotto in Bethlehem where Jesus was born.

It is then carried in blast-proof miner’s lamps on a jet to Austria, where it’s distributed worldwide.

The church used the symbol of peace as part of its service today; as the flame is shared, peace is shared with it.

“With everything that’s going on in our world right now, I think we all need a little peace,” said Beth Applegate. “The light comes from such a sacred and special place in Bethlehem.”

The light is available for public viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday until December 30th.
