Two injured in early Sunday I-80 Austintown crash

AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Two people were injured when a car went off the road and flipped over in Austintown Township early Sunday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Damita Waller of Boardman is charged with failure to control after her car went off eastbound I-80 after the Route 46 overpass and flipped over. She tells troopers she fell asleep at the wheel.

A passenger from Maple Heights, Ohio was also injured; both were taken to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.

The one-vehicle accident happened at 3:11 a.m. Sunday. The left lane of the freeway was shut down for a time.
