12-year-old Pennsylvania boy killed on all-terrain vehicle

HARRISVILLE, Pa. (AP) – A 12-year-old boy has been killed after crashing an all-terrain vehicle in a western Pennsylvania cornfield.

State police say the boy was taken to Grove City Medical Center where he died after the crash. That happened shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday in Mercer Township, about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police haven’t released the boy’s name, and the Butler County coroner has not released the name or returned calls seeking additional information.

Police say the crash happened on private property, but didn’t immediately say whether it was owned by the boy’s family, or who owned the ATV.
