AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Christmas is all about giving, and some kids in Austintown learned to give back on Monday night.
Cub Scout Pack 184 did something different at their Chistmas party at St. Joseph’s. They packed gift bags for those staying at the Dorothy Day House, which included toiletries, blankets, water and snacks.
Troop leaders wanted to teach the boys a lesson in life.
“Well, part of Scouts is service, so this is good for them to see that there are people who don’t have anything and that we are able to give back to them to give back to the community,” said Event Coordinator Michelle Phillips.
Most of the items were donated.
The Dorothy Day House provides a hot meal and a place to shower for those in need.
