YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A judge sentenced a Youngstown murder convict to 23 years to life in prison Monday after hearing closing arguments last week.

Judge Lou D’Apolito sentenced Kalontae Carter Monday. Last week, a jury found Carter guilty on all counts for shooting Kristopher Stuart during a robbery on the north side of Youngstown in April 2013.

Stuart was found fatally shot inside his home in the 2100 block of Elm Street.

Carter was also wounded in the exchange of gunfire and sufered a gunshot wound to his arm. He was 17 at the time of the shooting but tried as an adult.
