Boardman schools to get tech upgrades

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Students from kindergarten to 12th grade in Boardman Schools will see thousands of dollars worth of upgrades in their classrooms.

Six teachers were awarded grants between $1,000 and $1500 each.

Some classes will get upgrades, including mini-ipads.

The grant money, totaling more than $7,000, comes from the community.

Students will see those upgrades in March of next year.

“When you give back you feel that you have touched in a greater way than when you receive things,” Fund for Educational Excellence President Joyce Mistovich said. “So, we’re very proud that our board, Boardman Schools fund board, is committed to and dedicated to giving back to our teachers.”

Each grant will encourage 21st century learning.

Over the last four years, $24,000 has gone to teachers to improve the classroom for better learning.
