YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Cardinal Mooney standout pitcher Kayla Rutherford is just a sophomore, but has already made her college choice.
She has verbally committed to play college softball at Youngstown State. Last season, she posted a record of 5-1 with 54 strikeouts in 32 innings for the Cardinals.
Overall, Rutherford allowed just eleven hits and five earned runs with a 1.09 ERA on the season.
At the plate, Rutherford batted .560 with 2 home runs and 25 RBI. She tallied six doubles, one triple, with a .797 slugging percentage.
