Area football standouts honored at Big 22 awards banquet

Big 22 Class of 2015

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The 10th annual Big 22 Player of the Year Awards Banquet was held at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman Thursday night.

Nearly 200 guests were in attendance at the event which recognizes those players that were voted the top 22 in the area in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Warren Harding’s Lynn Bowden was named Ohio Player of the Year, while Sharon’s Andrew Tomko was awarded Pennsylvania Player of the Year honors.

Some of our past Big 22 Players of the Year include some big names…such as Dan Herron, Dan McCarthy, Fitzgerald Toussaint and De’Veon Smith…and current Michigan State Freshman Running Back L.J. Scott.
