Bowden is a three-time member of the Big 22, previously earning the honor while playing at Liberty the previous two seasons.

This Fall, Bowden amassed 1,827 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns.  He also completed 52-92 passes for 640 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Bowden finished the season with a quarterback rating of 155.5, and racked up a total of 2,467 all-purpose yards on the season.

He helped lead the Raiders to an appearance in the Division II Regional Semifinals.

Winning the prestigious award was emotional for the Junior quarterback.

“I mean it just like rushed to me.  Tears almost started falling out of my eyes. But I had to remember, it’s still football, and you can’t show emotion.” Bowden said.  “I’m most proud of my team.  They got me where I was.  The accomplishments that we had from coming to a bad season to a good season going to the second round of the playoffs…that’s what I’m most proud of,” he added.
