Warren Police looking for cigarette thief

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police are looking for a suspect who broke into a BP gas station on E. Market Street to steal cigarettes.

Police reported that the same type of theft occurred twice — on December 14 and December 19, in the early morning hours. Both times, a person wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt was seen on a security video smashing a window of the business and then loading several cartons of cigarettes into a bag.

Police said in both incidents, nothing else appeared to be taken.

It is unknown whether the thefts were committed by the same person, but police noted the similarities in two police reports. The thefts are under investigation.
