Campbell, Trumbull County receiving grants for home repairs

The Ohio Development Services Agency awarded 38 communities grants to rehabilitate, repair and construct affordable housing for low-income Ohioans, as well as provide home ownership and rental assistance.

Locally, grants have been awarded to the City of Campbell and to Trumbull County.

The City of Campbell received a $975,000 grant to partner with Mahoning County and the city of Struthers to complete 15 home rehabs and repairs on 37 homes and eight rental homes. The city is also building a new home with Habitat for Humanity and plans to provide rental assistance to 16 families, according to the Ohio Development Services Agency.

Trumbull County is receiving a $250,000 grant for four home rehabilitations and repairs at seven homes.

The Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program grants total nearly $23.6 million. The grants are funded by the Ohio Housing Trust Fund, federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs.
