Search of Wellsville hotel nets drugs

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) — A local motel was searched Tuesday by members of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force, after a police chase that started in Toronto.

The Morning Journal reports that the search of the Emerald Motel, located at 1901Clark Ave., uncovered marijuana and prescription pills. The search was conducted in relation to the chase, which resulted in the arrest of two men — Jerome Chambers of Lorain and Scott Allison of Empire.

Police told the Morning Journal that the men had two guns, 60 grams of heroin, crack cocaine and $4,000.

Chambers was charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence and obstructing. Allison was charged with failure to comply.

Charges are pending in relation to evidence found in the motel.
