John Albino Serrano Felonious Assault

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man was arrested after police were called to investigate a Shaken Baby Syndrome case.

The baby was flown to Akron for treatment. The infant is now in stable condition, according to Youngstown Police Detective Michael Brindisi.

Police interviewed the father, John Albino Serrano, as well as his wife and the child’s grandmother. Police said Albino Serrano admitted to breaking the child’s rib but said he was “massaging” the child’s stomach when it happened.

Albino Serrano was charged with felonious assault. He was arraigned Wednesday at Youngstown Municipal Court and bond was set at $35,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. December 30 before Municipal Court Judge Robert Milich.
