WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – For the 27th year in a row, the Trumbull County Commissioners hosted a free Christmas buffet for the community.
Cars flooded the parking lot, and the line of people waiting stretched to the outside of the building on Friday afternoon at Aulizio’s Banquet Center.
Volunteers served turkey, ham, stuffing, and there was a dessert table as well. And, it gave the people who showed up a sense of belonging on this holiday, said Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Povlika who began the annual tradition.
“You know, it gives someone on Christmas day, whether they are alone, they’re in need somewhere to have fellowship,” he said.
Donated toys were also distributed at the dinner, and scarves and hats were given to those in need.
