CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – New Year’s Eve is just three days away, and Canfield has a whole night of entertainment planned to celebrate.
First Night Canfield starts at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Admission is $10. That price gets you a button and a sheet of coupons for various Canfield businesses.
Children under the age of 18 are free.
There are three different venues for those of all ages. Those with small children will want to go to Canfield Village Middle School, where age-appropriate entertainment is planned, according to First Night Canfield Executive Director Sarah Drokin.
The school is located at 42 Wadsworth St.
“It has bounce arounds, and these big beach balls in this gym are back, thankfully. And there’s face painting and clowns. It’s going to be blast for kids,” Drokin said.
If you are kid-free on New Year’s Eve, there is also an option for adults.
“Actually, we have a dinner show at 5 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, and we still have tickets left for that,” Drokin said.
The dinner’s entertainment features a barbershop quartet. The cost is $25 but includes the button for the event.
At Rush Church, located at 425 W. Main St., teenagers can bring in their new year, starting at 7 p.m. There will be music and artists.
The Old North Church on Herbert Road is geared toward all ages. Bands and dance groups will perform from 6 to 11 p.m., with fireworks capping off the evening at 11 p.m.
Drokin said fireworks will begin earlier for families who want to be home before it gets too late for the little ones.
“We thought that would get families home by midnight, so that they can be safe,” she said. “Our event is all about family, and we are all about being safe and family-friendly.
