First Energy reports widespread power outages in western Pa.

MERCER CO., Pa. (WKBN) – Widespread power outages were reported Monday in western Pennsylvania where hundreds of customers were without power for several hours. Outages were also reported in northeastern Ohio.

According to First Energy, most service has been restored and remaining customers should have service by 7 a.m. Tuesday.

First Energy/Penn Power spokesman Mark Durbin said the outages were primarily weather-related, due to heavy wind and rain throughout the day on Monday.

Customers can check the progress of repairs on First Energy’s website.

The website, Durbin said, is updated every 15 minutes.
